The Discipleship.org Collective: Better than Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube for Disciples of Jesus

Dear Discipleship-first Friends,

If you have been following Discipleship.org, you will know that we are fans of Rod Dreher’s book Live Not By Lies. This book calls disciples to an awareness of what is happening with free speech, censored speech, and cancel culture.

It was published in September 2020, before the most recent censorship events this January.

Dreher provides a sober assessment of the intellectual and cultural changes that affect those who truly desire to follow Jesus. Such concerns will not likely be fully grasped by shallow or surface-level Christians.

Disciples of Jesus need to be wise as serpents and as innocent as doves, Jesus warned (Matt. 10:16). We need to learn what to say, where to say it, and when to say it—and we need clarity on these things now.

Effective disciples of Jesus know what to say and when to say it.

We must adopt the posture that disciples have adopted in countries where there is ongoing, deep rooted persecution. We will likely see in the near future an avalanche of restrictions and censorship, especially if the Equality Act passes.

Christians need to prepare for the coming changes now.

Every day, we are learning more about how those who speak about the harder teachings of Jesus, like Focus on the Family, are being suppressed or kicked off Twitter, suppressed on Facebook, and/or demonetized on YouTube.

Our Discipleship.org Collective and our website will be updated in March. These are platforms where conversations on hard biblical topics are uncensored.

The Discipleship.org Collective is a member-based, safe, and free speech zone for disciple making leaders.

Look forward to the following weekly shows in the Collective starting March 16th:

  • Disciple-Making Books (Reviews and Conversations with Authors)
  • Learning from Disciple Making Movements (Global Lessons)
  • Theology for Disciple Makers (Jesus’ Teachings to Fuel Discipleship)

Sign up for free here and now.

Membership helps provide a bit of a filter (it is for people who want disciple making conversations) and inside the Collective you will find the equivalent of Facebook Groups, presentations, discussions, eBooks, and other resources.

Within the Collective you will experience conversations and resources:

  • Online Conversations and Groups (outside Facebook)
  • Digital resources for counter-cultural disciple making
  • Videos and trainings (not hosted by YouTube)

The Discipleship.org Collective is designed as the place where disciple makers can go for conversations that are safe, informed, and helpful.

For King Jesus,

Bobby Harrington, Point Leader, Discipleship.org
