Summary of Track: Life of Christ Disciple Making
Dann Spader and others started Sonlife Ministries in order to train leaders around the world in disciple making based on a deep understanding of the life of Christ. Sonlife Ministries, and its international arm, Global Youth Initiatives, have a presence in 111 countries. They will tell you that, “Sonlife is a training organization that trains, coaches and mentors leaders, providing a fresh encounter with Jesus as our model for making and multiplying disciples.” They exist, Spader told us, “to train leaders in disciple making based on a deeper understanding of the life of Christ” with the end goal being movements of multiplying disciples.
In this track called “Life of Christ Disciple Making”, Spader and his team unpack key elements from their training. Session one deals with four challenges from Jesus that every Christian must answer in order to be an effective disciple maker. While session two is not available in audio, session three deals with five phases every ministry must move through to multiply like Jesus did in order to begin a dynamic disciple making movement. In the fourth session, which was a Forum discussion, they focus on why Jesus is our model, the application of which helps us become like the real Jesus. In the final session, Spader focuses on two critical practices disciple makers do together which makes them belong to a vibrant disciple making community.
